Very Poor Quality Sofa Set

Wished to inform you all that the quality of Sectional Sofa Set is of very poor quality.


I’m experiencing such kind of poor quality sofa set for the second time. My earlier sofa set was replaced with 2 months of use and was replaced with another sectional sofa set assuring to be one of their best selling product. Even technically made up with sound features like Cushion being tied up with Straps whereas in earlier sofa set it sprang beneath the cushion. Frankly speaking, the quality of the sofa set is never ever the worth amount is being paid.


In my case, 2nd sofa set was originally worth above INR 1 Lakh and was under discount so was able to purchase it at about INR 80k. Again after use of a couple of months the condition of new sofa set started deteriorating and again I had to escalate the said issue to Hometown wherein again a couple of inspections were carried and a repair was carried.


Initially, the issue was not being entertained in a positive approach with a mindset that the customer is a fool and can be mAnasultanged to listen to your tunes. Later on when I started escalating issue another set of inspections were carried and a meeting(Karve Road Central Mall) was arranged with store mAnasultanger where they were trying to convince me based on some lame examples of sofa set being used by them of Hometown and some Dell Laptop issues. Further had also hinted that since this being their one of the best selling product they portrayed that may be our use of sofa set is unwarranted so the defective issue is recurring on my side.


Later on again when I started escalating email to possible Hometown authorities, consumer forum with a mention that if the issue is not resolved then in future I shall approach consumer court, thus my claims were being entertained and on the fact of "GOODWILL GESTURE" they would either repair it or else replace with the new sofa of same make and brand. In turn, I had argued that I may either settle for Repair in writing with "UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT" if in case any further issue occurs then without any second thought they would refund my money. The other alternative was immediately refunding the money. They aren’t willing to give it in writing about unconditional support. With repeated follow-up emails lastly the team concluded that either they will repair or they will replace with same sofa set. Since I didn’t want to enter into any further altercations in this matter, I have decided to approach file a legal suit initially on CONSUMER COURT and if demand arises then shall also file a suit in a judicial court.


This emailing communications and inspections are carried since months. Not sure why such kind of products is being sold on such a branded GIANT i.e. FUTURE GROUP. Based on the trust of brand one purchases /fulfill the needs of their own. I openly challenge to conduct an inspection to have a quality check done by the external technician and I’m sure about the outcome of the report would be negative for HomeTown product. It is unfortunate of mine that I tried to settle the matter over emails and not at public domain but if such is the approach of Hometown I’m left with no choice than to escalate the issue on Public Domain and all other possible avenues.
