Mail from a victim.
It was 7th May evening; as usual I finished my work and packed off to home. I had drawn 15K from my Citibank and placed my hand bag along with the cash in Activa scooter’s locker(one which is below the seat).
As it is summer holidays is going on, my daughter was outside the house demanding to take her out for park to play. I took her, parked my vehicle in front of park, pulled out my mobile from my hand bag and locked both the vehicle and locker it was 6.30pm.
We all went inside, she played for 15 minutes and it started raining. We came back, opened my scooter’s locker(one which is below the seat). I saw my hand bag was missing. My vehicle lock was intact and no damage had happened to lock part and all other document was safe. For a fraction of moment I thought that I had not lock properly. Just consoled my self and went to police station to file the case. As I was not able to drive, I took an auto to police station.
I just gave a complaint. After that, sub inspector of the police station started walking along with me, came out and told me to walk towards one of the Activa parked inside the station.
There will be a spring behind the vehicle, which runs above your number board, (you can see small 2 horizontal opening in between the number board and seat end). He just pulled out that spring, the lock was automatically open L. When I came back and saw my vehicle that spring was hanging outside
So finally I have lost 15K, because of the unsafe lock.
Please, dear friends, do not keep any valuable things in your Activa scooter.
