i am writing because my wife who owns a honda activa is totally fed up with the vehicle. Despite its reputation, the vehicle is quite full of problems. In fact we are so fed up with the vehicle and dealer attitude that we are going to sell it, and maybe go for Kinetic Nova or Zoom.
Here is my experience:
First of all, I had to wait for 3 months to get this vehicle. the dealer told me that if I paid extra money, I could get delivery early. So he is overcharging by 5000 rs! anyway I did not want to encourage such behavior so I waited for 3 months.
We have faced following problems with the vehicle:
POor mileage - I cannot get mileage over 30 kmpl from this vehicle. It keeps dropping steadily month by month. Dealer is not able to fix it. he has so much attitude that he tells me if you need more mileage, you should have bought something else.
STarting trouble - vehicle does not start properly. Electric start has become almost useless. My wife has to use kick start all the time, which she dislikes.
Dangerous skidding on roads - the vehilce tends to skid upon braking, very dangerously. We had a bad fall due to this.
Overall unstable vehicle - especially if you drive beyond a speed of 40 kmph, the vehicle becomes very unstable and if you go into an even small pothole on the road, you may have terrible accident due to this.
Dealer does not know how to fix problems, and does not care about customer issues. Honda has good name in the country so he can sell despite his pathetic attitude.
But I must warn all possible customers not to go for this vehicle, as it is problematic, high maintenance and high frustration.
