Aviator vs Activa vs

UPDATE: 3 may 2013 - good handling after getting it repaired by non-honda mechanic.

Get your bushes changed if you have such problems. I also changed my rear tyre.

Still good - smooth ride, still a pleasure. NO complaints!

Not good - 34 kmpl mileage, but this is because of the CVT which Honda chooses not to improve.

VERY BAD - Service sucks, hate dealerships and their mentality. I suspect they do not do any inspections, just wash and change oil. I want them to do repairs in front of me - sorry I don’t trust you dealer service people, you guys are just sophisticated thieves! Normally the SA does not even take a test ride, wow what a money spinner! HMSI must make a lot of money from licensing!

Update - fuel efficiency is only [ NOT 40 km per liter] strike that out it is close to 34 kmpl

My decision to buy the Aviator was based on my Activa. I considered the Suzuki Access, but I did not get a proper demo to decide. Also, based on my Unicorn experience, I knew that, I would hardly get to use the extra power in city riding. The Activa has been very good, practical and easy to use and of course reliable.

The Aviator has a higher riding position. Its handling is better than the Activa, and I wish the Activa was offered with telescopic suspension from the start. The Aviator has been giving 44 KM per litre from the begining and I expect it to improve after the first service. Other than that, it is the same as the Activa and the good thing compared to 125 cc scooters will be its mileage, and with petrol prices increasing this will be a better buy for city riding where you can barely cross 40 kmph. One more thing to remember, the Aviator cannot be fitted with a glove box(as of now). The headlight also seems better. I did not have to use the disc brakes so far, so I cannot comment on that as of now.

Only thing for Honda to improve in all its scooters is the transmission - by now the efficiency of the CVT should be close to manual transmission with all the R&D in CVT transmissions. This will give better mileage.
