I took Honda CB Twister for a test ride and found some useful facts, which I like to share with you. Rather than the conventional description, I am gonna make the CB Twister talk by itself.
Me:Hi CB Twister?
CB Twister: Hi. rider.
Me: How are you?
CB Twister: so far so good.
Me; So, you are just now out on roads? First my worrying facts. What’s your cost? What’s your mileage?
CB Twister: Hi. I am very young, just came out of the factory. My price tag shows
Rs. 55000 on road. Though I am a little dearer, I am trendy as well as conservative.
Me: Good, now tell me your design features?
CB Twister: Have you seen the recent RTR 160, or the HH Hunk or the TVS flame?
Me: ya . of course…
CB Twister: I have a similar tank design with two fabrics running on the sides of my petrol tank ending in a nosy shape.
Me: I noticed it. It is much different from other bikes. hmm.
CB Twister: My speedometer is all new, you have never seen that in a normal commuter bike
Me: Interesting. continue…
CB Twister: I have new 6 spoke alloys, straight and simple adding to my beauty. Also, to increase the sportiness, I have a cut open chain set and toe shifter instead of the conventional gear shifter. The headlamp and the indicator lamps will make me stand out of crowd even in a traffic jam. Thanks to my design team, who have crafted me with an all new plastic front which adds to my muscularity.
Me: Well, you doesn’t seem to be an ordinary commuter bike? You are better looking than your brother shine and even good looking than the classic Unicorn…
CB Twister: Yes, you are right…
Me: What do you have in your heart?
CB Twister: My heart is an all new 110 cc engine with 8.4 bhp @7500 rpm. I shall be first when you race with any other 100 cc or 110 cc bikes.
Me: Let me ride you and have a hands on experience.
CB Twister: You are welcome, hop on!
After the chat, I took her for a test drive, of course the showroom guy was sitting at my back. The first few thoughts that sprang into my mind was, when I got into the seat, I felt that I am not into a commuter bike(or the masses bike), rather, I saw it as a sports bike with new instrument clusters, aggressive tank shape and grippy driving position.
Coming to the ride, I was able to shift the gears easily and even at low speeds, the bike pulled both of us(the showroom guy behind me) without much fuss. When I opened up the throttle, I could feel the good response from the bike taking me from 0 to 40 in less than 5 seconds, not bad for a 110 cc engine. Although, downshifting was not smooth, coz I could hear some thud thud sounds, the overall gear shifting stuff is a relaxing job in CB Twister. Honda claims 70kmpl under its testing conditions. I believe it shall give atleast 65km on road. Top speed is supposed to be 95km.
