My Honda Twister

I bought Honda twister in the middle of May 2010. This is excellent bike with all modern technology available at this price range. Fuel economy is good & should be between 70-78 after two servicing. But tyre pressure is vital. It should be 25- 25 in case of single ride & 30-41 in 2 ride. Honda has given a new tyre pressure specification in June 2010 different from earlier manual.

The bike has a sporty look. The tyres are slim in order to give it maximum mileage. The best aspect is the imported engine, tubeless tyre, air filter, good suspension... however, the rear part is bit high, may not be totally suitable for family persons, as for ladies it is hard to ride that height. Also the leg stand at the back is so small that people find it difficult to put their legs on the leg stand. Since it is a 109 cc bike, no one should expect its BHP giving power like apache or pulsar for example. So, it is advisable to keep the speed within 50 km/ hr. for getting max. mileage and safety.

With 3 servicing it should give you 80+ mileage in long & 60-65 in local run. But unfortunately most of the servicing centres avoid doing complete servicing of the bikes. There are almost 10-14 types of servicing the servicing mechanics are supposed to do, but very few do those honestly. It is advisable to avoid free servicing after 3 terms (since there are 4 free servicing in Twister) & pay for those servicing to mechanics outside - provided the mechanics are reliable. Another uncomfortable feature is its seat. But the problem can be overcome if anyone can adjust the seat and the leg stand by shelling out little amount of extra cash.Overall, the bike is a real value for money. I shall update the review with more usage of the bike in the coming months.

The Hero Honda bikes - the Don of Indian market looks Lilliput in front of Honda bikes. But Hero Honda clearly enjoys the advantage of early marketing and moderate quality products in affordable price. Honda enjoys the advantage of being a partner of Hero in producing bikes for so many years; tested in Indian road condition so far.

So, there should not be a big problem as Honda has launched new bikes on Indian road.
