I have been using Unicorn 160 since 02/2015. My first bike was TVS Star city, which I used for 3 years and second one Bajaj Discover 150, which also I rode for 3 years. Finally I decided to buy a Honda machine to upgrade my level expecting a quality and durable product by paying Rs.90, 000/- in cash. I booked the bike in advance before launch convinced with its look and modern features. Moreover, I always preferred commuter/family bikes. Now I have been running from pillar to post to resolve the issues with my Uni 160.
ISSUE NO. 1
The main issue is wobbling. When I ride the bike for about 6 km, it starts going away from my control. I feel like the handle got stucked / some problem with the engine or gear box. It will be very difficult to control the stability. I had stopped many times afraid of meeting with accidents. Really irritating. Since it was not a standing problem(happened occasionally), It is very difficult to explain to the service guys what is really happening. I had complained this many times to the service center as possible by analyzing the issue to best of my knowledge. Every time they convinced me with some lame excuses and causes. They even made me to replace the handle bar saying it is bend. I keep my bike well in care and service, never met with even a silly accident to justify their finding that the handle bar is bend.
ISSUE NO. 2
The other main concern is that the bike automatically stops while running and we will not be able to start it either with button or kicker. The kicker will be in free move. Many a times I had to pull my bike to home tired of starting it, what a shame Honda this. Most probably this happens when we speed down at signals. Honda service center guys confirmed that this is a manufacturing defect.
ISSSUE NO. 3
Despite their claim of city mileage of 55Km, you will be the luckiest if you get 38km with this unsteady week machine.
I advise those who are interested to buy Honda products, please rethink, the quality is not as it was earlier. They are selling junk products at higher costs. Once you are trapped, it is very difficult to get repaired since the service centers are employed by dump engineers and managers. They never heed to your complaints and sorrows. Just do something and through a heavy bill against you.
During my last visit to the service center, I told them that this will be my final visit to your service center to complain about the issues. If it is not resolved this time, I will bring the bike to your service center and burn it there and put the video in social media. They changed the chain set, handle bar and some adjustments with the fork etc, It run smooth for few days, again started to show the wobbling. I am confused with the equation of 90k bike or my life…
