Hi All,
I am shravan and this would be my 1st review in the bike segment. Honestly, I gathered a lot of knowledge by the users posts:).
Coming to the point Stunner CBF, a product from Honda is a turnaround bike.for all people. in terms of riding comfort, cost, control and of course speed @ city driving conditions.
I have driven many bikes like pulsar-150/180, unicorn and also bikes in 125 cc segment, I feel that this bike has all the features for a good bike.
My cousin who was in hunt for a bike after his splendor broke down with an drastic engine failure was almost ready to take Pulsar, when I have suggested unicorn, after reading the reviews, so I had finally convinced to test drive when we saw this "Black Beauty". Immediately we had test driven and found it to be the most comfortable bike on Indian roads probably in 125 segments. Nice pick up, Mileage Quoted @ showroom 65 Kmpl, and of course price is quite high. Also he said we had to wait for 1 month. His wife was very much disappointed with "Second Floor" seating at the back. Over all we were happy.
Now after a wait for a month he had received a Grey Stunner(two bikes one for me and one for him) way back in October08. The first experience we had with the bike is awesome. so smooth and so powerful. it’s a darling.
Engine: was too smooth and more powerful than 125cc and less than 150CC. we had a couple of times overtook 150cc pulsars too….it was a shock to myself.
Brakes: we opted for a Disc brake. boy trust me even at 100 u will have the confidence that you can stop at a short distance(not sure about Drum alone). Guys, we had once averted an accident by believe me 10 mts from almost 70. But I heard from my friends with Drum that braking is not that effective.
Comfort: we drove about 200+ km and the comfort is awesome at least for the driver, I don’t think it’s as much comfortable for pillion. The tubeless tires add more confidence J . Well the bike does vibrate if you cross 110 .normal for any bike if we reach around 80% of the recommended speed on the dash.
Color: got Gray as black was too common on roads and yes its maintenance costs are high and it has to be cleaned every day.
Spares: as everyone knows spares are a concern for Honda and they are expensive. and parts gets rusted too fast if you tend to put the bike in water. Ensure that you buy a cover as it will protect the petrol tank else I had instances where water seeped into the tank. the tank design is good.
Suspension: well to be honest, not as good as Unicorn. but yes can be adjusted.
Mileage: Initially got 52 kmpl . But now getting 65. be careful until u ride 1000 km even after 1st service if you are too much concerned about mileage. I suggest to use only one brand petrol(I use only Shell)
Seating: can be rated the best if you are a bachelor. Or newly married.not recommended for parents.split seating its very comfortable . Especially when your GF sits at back:)
Be careful until u get adjusted with front Cowl as initially my cousin crashed in another two wheeler thinking about his old splendor.
No back pain and wrist pain during long drives but noticed a small leg pain due to gear system. but the single gear system is good(international gear system) but yes gears are not as good as Unicorn. sometimes neutral is an issue.Rusting is an issue. The handle is quite not very responsive.
Guys my cousins Speedometer is in Soup when he crossed 110 KMPL …. still the showroom people are yet to change….reason? no spares…….
Very light bike……Easy to control…… good mileage……good ride control…….
Overall I recommend this bike…if you are ok with 125CC and specially concerned with style performance and mileage at the same time. Don’t compare this bike with any other segment bikes including 125 cc as its more a 125 CC in its performance…….
Happy And Safe riding…….
