HONDA CBF STUNNER - REVIEW

Hi,

I am using Stunner CBF Carburator model for the past 5 years. It is a 2010 April delivery.

Summarising what I felt within this period of five years:

Pros:

1: Build Quality - It is the first and must-mentioned thing here. Built with fine quality duravble materials and with good workmanship. With regular usage, my battery lasted perfectly fine for more than three years. Chain sprocket is also good, which became noisy later on, but comfortable to use it until 2.5 years. If chain case was there, it would have definitely been lasted longer. Breaks, electricals everything is reliable and is hassle-free.

The paint and fibre parts are of good quality and strong. They have faded negligibly during this period.

I dont see any rust anywhere.

In short, I haven’t spent anything in these five years  apart for consumables as well as obvious expenses such as chain change, break shoes, tyres etc. That too lasted for reasonable period.

Only thing to mention is the speedometer which had to be serviced once. The rest mechanical things are in tact the same factory assembly.

2: Smooth-Hazzle free Engine: - Engine, when properly serviced and maintained, it used to gimme a smooth ride. Sustained and reliable performance. Never gave an issue during this period.

3: Reasonable Mileage: The shine engine which is capable of delivering 70+ mileage on shine comes down to 55-60 kmpl max on a stunner machine. This is because, the vehicle is heavier than shine, the swing arm is longer, and the gearing ratio is different. Still, for the

design, vehicle weight which adds stability, this is completely reasonable.

Cons:

1: Performance on speed gears is not satisfactory. - It is possible to pump the machine to 100 kmph in a few seconds, but the power factor is too low. Initial gears will give  a jumping forth kind of feel but it is not delivering sustained power.  But for single rider, the machine is 150% fine regarding satisfactory power as well as economy.

2: Top gear is not comfortable at times. - it gives us a feel that one more gear is remaining. Engine gives a feel of high rpm than that which is actually present.

3: Chain sprocket has tio be kept clean and oiled regularly to hold its life. Lack of chain case is creating trouble at times with mud and dirt.

4: This machine, apart from being kind of tall and is having a good ground clearance, the height(esp rear) caould possibly reduce traction control and may result in risk of skidding in weathery conditions.
