I am Jagadeesh, a proud owner of Honda Stunner. It is a stunning bike in terms of looks as well as performance. I actually was taken aback when I was told that it was a 125cc bike just when I was so fixed on its looks and was actually expecting it to be a 150cc atleast, but after seeing the specifications, I decided to go ahead and buy the bike.
My main considerations were looks, performance especially in the city, and decent mileage. The Stunner did really exceed all my expectations. I actually tested and was amazed to find that it went from 0 to 60 in 5.6 sec. It picks up really quick and it is fun to zip through traffic. Even in fifth gear I was able to ride at about 20kmph without hearing any abrupt sounds from the engine, and I am sure you can ride even well below that speed, but I am a conservative rider.
I showed mileage figures of about 55-57 in city roads where I would do an average of 35 to 45 kmph on average, and once I tested on a long drive of about 100km and it actually gave me 67.2 kmpl, that when I rode between speeds of 55 to 65kmph constantly.
There were vibrations at about 65kmph when the bike was new, but now after completing 1500km, I feel no vibes till the speedometer touches 90kmph, which actually could be 85or86kmph(speedometers are always overenthusiastic). You would feel a little uncomfortable after riding constantly for about 2hrs, which I think is normal for any bike.
I suggest few tips to new CBF Stunner owners as well as would-be ones. Do not go to full throttle starts for atleast you complete 1000 to 1500 kms. Do not go over 50kmph on 5th gear till then. Try to ride in the lowest acceptable revs as possible in each gear. Handle it smoothly and you will find it very responsive and reliable bike than any other 125 or 150cc for that matter.
The bike is not for long rides, even on long rides you wont have any problem if you keep your speeds at 80 max.
As I use my bike mostly in the city, I find it more fun and slick than any other bike in the city. Ride it responsibly and you will never regret your decision to own it.
Most people tried to persuade me not to go for this bike, they said it was a failure, it does not give mileage, you can get a 150cc bike for that price, but I say its a HONDA and it is the best a 125cc bike can ever be on Indian roads. It may not be good at top speed(I ask what is the top speed of FZ16 compared to Unicorn or GS150R), but it beats most 150s in its 0-60, that is what counts in city riding.
Ride responsibly and have fun.
