Honda Stunner - Great Deal and Value for Money

I have bought the Honda Stunner on November 2008. It will cost you some 53, 000 Rs(Ex showroom Kolkata) and the on road price will come around 56, 000 Rs. Let me put the review in a simple way -

  1. Look is really great. The front and side is much like Karizma. The Back is also stylish.

  2. Brand is of good repute. So the engine is of course reliable.

  3. Handling is superb. You will definitely feel more confident on road when you ride this.

  4. Mileage is definitely a good point to mention as it will be around 55(expect a+- 5 variation). However Honda claims it to be 62.7.

  5. Braking and low speed acceleration is cool and fast. However in Mid speed range it is sluggish and after 80 KMPH it becomes too hard to get that extra 10 or 20 KMPH.

  6. Engine is smooth up to 70 or 80 KMPH and beyond that range vibrations will be introduced.

  7. Seats are good and comfortable for a normal 50 - 70 KM at a stretch journeys. But do expect back pain if you go beyond 100 - 150 KM at a stretch. However, my friends have complained about the pillion several times.

Pros:

Value for money, Great looks and Style, Riding comfort and Handling is very good. Gear shifting is smooth and easy, Low and Mid speed acceleration is good, Mileage is good.

Cons:

Performance wise this is only a 125 cc bike and does not offer you much boost. The pillion will not be much comfortable for those who are not driving and just sitting at the back. After 80 KM you will feel the engine does not have much power left to deliver. The After sales service is not really that good.

This is a must bike if you admire style and look, if you seek reliability in terms of engine and brand, your prime aim is city commute, you don’t want to waste all your hard-earned money buying fuel and your budget is tight. However Honda only has a few service centers in Eastern India(in Kolkata they have only one). So you have to book your bike for service in advance or have to go to the service centre before opening to avoid ruch and minimise waiting.
