Boy Racer - oh boy!!!

Have driven one for nearly 2 years/18000 kms now.(1.3Exi)

Had a Zen before this.

Do not get a chauffer if u have a City

In the city its a good enough car - more than keeping

up with traffic and comfortable on most roads (do not

agree with the reviewers about the suspension - given

how responsive it is its not uncomfortable) - its comes

alive on highways. I’ve travelled more than 750kms one way

a couple of times - and done 300 kms trips numerous times

  • and I cannot just wait to do the next one. A good smooth

road, a nice curve and the road hugging abilities beg you

to do the curve and hold ur lane at 100kms+ I’ve topped out at 140 - though am sure given awesome road and no

passengers/luggage - can do more (I don’t need to). And

despite all this - get a decent 14ish kmpl on the highway. (I do not drive for fuel efficiency - so best

case could easily be 16-18kmpl). Inside the city its more like 12kmpl (all figs with the AC used 80%).

The interiors/audio have been trashed by all auto mag

guys - and I guess they’re used to really superior stuff. For me though the interior’s really held up great

for 2 years - doesn’t look much older than when we got the car. The audio’s not like the home theatre at home -

but really - its pretty decent (except u cannot get a

decently priced Clarion CD changer for it).

Honda dealerships suck the life out of you finances for

repairs etc though the service is decent and basic

servicing cheap. Have found a great Daewoo place to get

the car serviced at.

All in all - a great buy (lousy dealership though). Get

the car - and listen to it revving all the way to 5k rpm

before you shift up - its soooooo smooth right up to the

redline. Can keep up with almost any car on the highway

  • except when the whacko’s doing 150+ where I don’t even

try going. For 80-100kmph driving with some 120kmph cruises when the road/traffic permits - its awesome.

Caution: When fully loaded - keep the tacho above 2000 rpm on steep slopes - low end torque is not great and

I had to zig zag my way up one when I stopped on the

way up to Ooty with a full car/boot. This is a rev-happy

car and that’s how it must be driven.
