I bought the new Honda City 1.5 GXi CVT a year ago now. Before I bought it I test drove the optra, corolla and a few other similar size cars. Here’s what my experience has been :
1. The City, feature for feature, is significantly cheaper that the others...bought mine for 7.5
2. The auto transmission is a dream. It’s the continuous variable transmission...i.e no clicks or surges as you power your way through. Absolutely smooth and effortless pick-up
3. Milage is about 12 kmpl in city driving conditions..with ac. Considering the size of the car and the traffic I’m more than satisfied. I also have a fiat Palio and that gives me around the same milage !
4. Highway driving is no problems...people who talk about the low power don’t realise that you can’t go over 110-120 on Indian highways safely. And at those speeds the City does not give any sense of under power....in fact it strains to go faster.
5. The space inside is huge !! Lot’s of leg room, and very comfortable seats etc
6. The boot is a cave !! You can fill it up to last you a month’s holiday !
7. Local Dealers (Delhi) are very helpful....no problems with the service.
8. It’s miles ahead technologically than other cars....won’t get outdated 5 years from now
I think it’s a great choice for those who want the best at an attractive price tag !! Drive it to believe it.....
