Bought this car 5 month back, I was bit apprehensive initially due to high cost but my father was admant for honda city, SX4 was not launched then. all other cars had few cons and few pros. so finally I got this car silver in col. Dealer has been great help and commandable support from company on even small issues and they make sure they are resolved quickly and to the customer satisfaction. they go extra length to solve the problem.
The car is definately pricier than what it should be or is the Honda premium they charge??????? I feel it should be cheaper by atleast 50K. Although the 10th anni city has fog lights but they were no there during my car, dealer option of fitment costs 19000/- which is HUGEEEEE. they say its sealed beam unit from stanley japan etc etc etc whatever but I still fell its costly as fiesta fog lamps costs just 4k of nearly same for all others.. interiors are the best in class even compared to SX$ (my sis got one last month).
engine is smooooth and very refined, I have never felt lack of power till 100kms but after it it does become bit slow, I fell its okey for indian condition untill u r into race with another powerful car. I have reached 160 in it till now. AC is very good, beige interiors does tend to catch sains easily if u r not careful and seats fabris loves gathering clothes fibres on them. cabin is smooth and car feels very well built. it does not rattle on bad roads.
brakes I do feel are not upto mark though and tend to lock up. I fell ABS should have been standard
fuel efficiency is top notch for the way I drive (mostly 110-120). average combined city highway cycle comes to 14kms with AC always on.
Headlights I do feel are not very bright and I have gone in for Xenons now. This is reason fog lamp missing pinches even more.
Service has always been prompt and any problem if in remote is fixed by telephone help of a technician is sent immediately.
The quality of after sales is evident from fact that I just wrote them a email that my monthly running was very less and so service interval of 5000kms or 3 months should be made to 5000kms or 6 month for my case. and the problem was solved just in a days with company agreeing to get my service period extended to 5000kms or 6 month from 3 month and this will not void my warranty.
After all this I would like to say that although I started as a apprehensive buyer under my father’s pressure but I have started loving my City now. Honda has made such a strong brand image that the car is well known even in interiors and associated with prestige and ego. I definitely feel ego boost when I Am travelling in car and believe it or not my friends just say wow when they sit in my car and it leaves all the negative points of car behind making me proud.
P.S. Honda city is still a premium image vehicle in it’s segment which is flooded by fiesta, verna, aveo etc etc and now SX4. Honda city still manages a image of its own and distincts itself.
If u want a hasselfree, safe, reliable and comfortable car, it still has no direct rival
