I had been using Swift Vxi until 2010, prior to my China trip. No one in my family is willing to part Swift except me. I dont have option that my Dad was pretty comfortable with Santro and no other place to park the car for 2 years idle. And also I was bit concerned about rust, in case if the car has not been used for years.
Well, after my return, I was pretty much wanted to buy a Jazz. But I shocked hearing the waiting period. ! damn one year. This might be a big reason for the failure of Jazz
I decided to check-out the used car market, as I had plans to go for mini SUV in an year. After reading few reviews from our mouth shut friends , I decided to go for City Gxi.
I got one 2008 City Gxi - 10th year edition for 5 lakhs, clocked 37 K. The car was maintained properly except few wear & tears. It was owned by a pilot. The car came with fully loaded features, like Alloy wheels, Alpine audio, leather seats. I no need to spend anything extra.
At the time of buying the car, I only decided to change the tyres @ 45K. I have up-sized the tyres lil bit, so that I could avoid the car scratching the stupid bumps. It worked bit. Still with the full load, I have to be very careful on these Bumps (BBMP) :).
Now I have clocked 14 K (Over all 50K in ODO ) since Jun12 and I didnt find much problems in the car. I have done couple of outstation trips. No fight for front passenger seats, as my family members did in Swift. :). Happy to sit in Rear seats, as it has excellent leg room and support. The Engine is pretty smooth. But around 120 (3000 RPM), the sound is bit more (Welcome comments from other owners). Not sure if thats a problem. I am fine, as I normally drive between 90-110. I am getting 10-11 in City and 15-16 in Highways. Isnt that pretty decent on a sedan?!
Few of my friends cautioned me that the service would be costly. I dont feel so. I am spending the similar amount which I spent earlier on my Swift. Probably the spares might be costing more. I agree.
The White-field Honda Service is also pretty good. They listen and try to fix as much as problems, though they take some additional time. :)
You know one thing, after this Honda City, I am keep postponing my mini SUV buying decision. :)). I might keep this beauty for another 2 years or so .. Who knows I might go for another Honda SUV.
I would like to "Thank" all of you who provided valuable feed-back and review comments on this Car, which helped me to Zero down to own this beauty.
