I booked the All New City(Tafeta White) in September and got the delivery in November end.
Ive been waiting to put a review for quite some time but now that I have done more than 2K, I thought probably this is the right time to write a review. Ive done city driving in NCR as well done highway driving during this time.
Exteriors:
The exterior looks are just mind blowing. No, I am not obsessed with my car, but I can tell you from the experience Ive had during the last two months. Everytime the car is on the road, people just keep oogling at it! The con is that Ive to be very careful while driving, as the other person is more interseted in prasising the beautiful creature instead of driving. The ground clearance is not all that great. I really have to drive carefully on some the bumpy speed-breakers. Dont know why Honda ignored such an important aspect while driving on Indian roads.
Interiors:
The interiors stand nowhere when compared to the exteriors. They are nice, but would have loved something extra from Honda. The integrated Audio System is just amazing and to add to that the audio control in the steering. The space in the cabin is enough - both in the front and in the back. Infact, its better than any of the cars in the segment. Ive tried SX4 and Verna, and found both of them very uncomfortable. The boot is big enough to carry 4 huge bags. The space is designed intelligently to fit in the bags easily.
Drive:
The drive is very smooth. I generally drive b/w 80-100kmph. I cant even hear the engine sound even with the stereo off. Infact, while waiting on the red-lights Ive turned on the ignition key accidentally a couple of time thinking that the engine is turned off
Performance:
Coming on to the power of the car, the 1.5L engine is powerful enough for any highway driving. I drive a lot on NH-1, and competing with the nasty bus-drivers was never this easy!
Mileage:
Now, the most looked after topic in a car review. The fuel indicator has been showing me an average of around 19kmpl. But when I calculated it manually(full tank to full tank), it comes down to around 17kmpl. This includes both city and highway driving with occasional AC on as its cold enough in Delhi. So far its been more than the Zen I owned, so I am pretty happy with the mileage so far.
I did a complete research from Tata Safari to Verna to SX4, but none of them come near it. While the Verna is getting old, Safaris engine is not too refined. SX4 comes the closest, but gets beaten on the mileage and the rear-sear discomfort. Moreover, the A-pillar creates a blind-spot making the SX4 difficult to drive on the turns.
In a nutshell, a family car that I would definitely recommend. Its been a pleasure driving it so far.
Go for it, if you are looking for a family car with a budget of around 8-9L
