I own a 3 models of honda city. A 2000 model, a 2007 model and a 2010 model.
I write this review about the middle one. the car was very nice and reliable till suddenly in march 2016 the ac stopped cooling.
I went to courtesy honda in wazirpur. their staff was very nice and accepted the car for a check up and informed me that the check up for the aor conditioner would cost 3000 rs to which I agreed. after checking the concluded that the clutch coil and the compressor of the air conditioner had konked off. the car has hardly run 70000 kms in 9 years . it is a third car which is hardly used. imagine a car which is run only 70000 km and is always serviced at the authorized service centre.
I have send the e mail to honda car india mentioning about the premature failure of components. my 2000 model honda city is still working like a gem. this just shows the degrading quality control mechanisms which have been placed in indian arms of these global companies. just to mention that the 2000 model honda city is 1.5 lakh kms without an engine overhaul or ac repair. I would urge the parent hinda company to look into the quality control issue with honda cars India. This episode shakes my trust in the company whose cars are so flawless outside of indian subcontinent.
