The old city 1.5 was an aspiring little car which changed the thinking of a generation. It changed the way we look at cars. the enthusiastic engine, agile chassis, excellent road handling and a hoot to drive. However the latest avatar the new city I-vtec 1.5 is a mere shadow of the original, as it barely manages to stand up to the hero.
Though the power is there, the feel has vanished entirely. the other day I took it to budh international circuit. and on track it squealed like a constipated piggy. the brakes boiled over and it would give up half way through the corner. some would say that is not a real world criteria, true but  fun factor  what about that. The zingy feeling you get when you drive a chuckable car, be it on a straight road. It is not a grown up version, but a grown old version. It has become an accountants daily run-about with as much enthusiasm as a road kill. honda has it in them but lately they have given up on th whole idea of progress it seems.
