My wife and I had checked up mouthshut.com before we bought our Honda CVT and found reviews very useful. So, I wanted to put my two bits in to add to this. Our CVT has done roughly 3600 km till now (7 months), so I am sort of qualified to write a review ;-)
Space inside is very good. The dash, materials and the finish is excellent in the cabin. They could throw in alloy wheels though for this rather steep price.
Dakshin Honda of Bangalore is OK. I found them to be better than Manipal Motors (who service Tata - I have an Indica as well). Still, the finesse and the urge to look into the problems and fix can improve a bit. The intent is very much there to do so, which means it is a matter of time before this is put to action. For e.g., the radiator/fan goes off literally every minute when the AC is switched on but I was told this is normal. But I have not noticed in other Honda Citys and asked the dealer - they really did check up but just came back and certified the AC to be perfectly normal. But why is this frequent switching on and off of the fan or radiator or whatever? -- there is no answer.
Fuel consumption: I get around 12 kmpl in stop start traffic, with me never exceeding 2000 rpm. I use IOC/IBPs Xtrapremium.
Comfort: Fantastic within the city. It is a great experience to drive this silken smooth car. Fabulous is the word to describe it.
Reliability: Cant say much about this as I havent taken this out on any long drive. But doesnt look like anything will break down in a Honda!
Looks: It is a definite head turner both from front and the back. Very few cars in this segment come even close to City.
All in all, it is a technical marvel - this car, especially the CVT part of it. I first read about this in 2004 and bought it when I got back to India in 2006, and I simply cant stop cheering for myself on this decision!
Cheers,
Ravi.
