Hi folks,
I want to highlight something about City ZX, which generally does NOT find a mention in reviews.
When I did my research before buying the car, I too never read this anywhere:
The spare wheel (stepney as we call it) kept inside the boot is actually positioned such that it cannot be inflated at petrol pumps conveniently.
That is because it is placed upside down in the boot with nozzle touching the floor and the designers either forgot about it or thought that it will suck air &maintain pressure by itself.
To add more interest to this issue : I have given my car for 1st and 2nd free services and have confirmed that the dealer does not even think of checking spare tyre pressure (forget inflating it!).
The end result: if you have a flat tyre and want to change over to the spare one, chances are youll find that you do not really have that luxury.
And if one wants to take the car for a long drive you need to visit a garage to play it safe.
One would think that HSCI folks would be majorly embarassed with this, but the cool reply I got from a HSCI Quality Manager was: more boot space had to be created and this was the only way!.
I hope they do not remove the engine next time in order to increase fuel efficiency, because the "logic" in both cases is pretty much the same!.
"Icing on the cake" : I have been following this issue with Honda Siel Cars India for months now and find their customer service totally, unimaginably hopeless!
Regards,
Ravi
