I am Dineshram from hyderabad.Programmar by profession.I owned dio 110cc metallic grey for my father and wife.I suppose Dio110cc
will be on waiting period in few days.I already own an unicorn in 2010.As a known fact honda manufactures the best engines in the
world my choice was to look for a tvs vehicle and secondly honda or suzuki access 125 was the choice.
Since my father met with a major accident in 2009 where his complete right hand was broken at elbow and shoulder and now he is
retired and needs a vehicle for his minimum works and hyderabad buses are completely crowded I kept in mind to look for a good light
weight gear less vehicle.I made enough ground work for the vehicle.Response with the tvs people was excellent.We thought of either
pep+ or streak or Weg. Wego was weight to my father and height for my wife.Heard suzuki access 125 is good vehicle but we have
showrooms some long way so ignored it.We had worst customer experience in Hero motocorp while we went for pleasure quotation.
My father was not looking for big vehicle and he was more concerned for my wife also.We decided to take tvs streak.While returning back to home we have Autofin motors at Uppal, near to my home.I went to look for dio since I knew activa and aviator are for medium to
strong people.Besides low mileage reviews from many about dio I thought of looking for it.I know honda doesnt even have vehicles for
test rides and booking is must for vehicles.I suffered during purchase of the unicorn at the same showroom.Now I no need to say about
the performance of unicorn, it simple rocks.You can view my review in mouthshut 2 yrs back I wrote for unicorn(Mr.Perfect)fortunately
hyderabad has few showrooms after sales are good.
Coming to dio there was only one display piece and my eyes were not turning out of it.We had one other dio from the load so we
immediately purchased it with no finance option.It is small piece but 2012 model is well built compared to previous one.I asked the guy
who is TL for sales whom I know well in the showroom "why this one is not on good sale".He said "sir now its time for dio.The company
had just taken out the engines of 102cc and kept the engine of activa 110cc into this one". To my logic I just thought this may now be
the best one with activa and aviator in coming days.We all sat on it and yes believe it, its a small bike but more height than activa.I drove
the vehicle in 20-40kmph but I was bit skeptical since the handle was shaking bit weak with pillion.I then raised it above 40kmph to my
surprise I cant explain the power it showed.8bhp is good.Excellent performance.I drove tvs gear less vehicles till 70kmph they
struggle.i know those are 90cc and dio is now with 110cc from 102cc.
Why people dont opt dio is about the design no head light on handles like LML Adreno which was a flop one, low mileage etc.Now the
110cc weighs 105 kgs with wider seat and good leg space, clear mirrors.This one is suitable for aged people, women, girls and even
guys.Enough storage under seat or helmet can be placed.I placed my honda helmet studd big size and yes it works.Petrol tank with 6
ltrs capacity is placed under the seat here tvs vehicles are having outside the seat which is good
I am not so keen about the digital meter or analog.For us any meter is ok.But heard digital meters face some problems.Dio has
speedometer and fuel meter separately just simple as we find in most 2004 splendor, passion bikes etc.Dio now has wider tubeless
tires in place of tuffup tube generally which comes from honda.There is a provision to lock the left side break while parking on an
inclination path or standing in a traffic.Best part of dio is I thought it would certainly touch the speed breakers and we have very big
speed breakers on our way to home.I did not slowdown the vehicle once I rushed onto the speed breakers and I drove slowly on return
and its even another suprise that the ground clearance is really good nothing touched the base of the bike(160mm ground clearance).
Dio has Double breaking system if we apply rear break even front tyre stops since front and rear breaks are together on the rear break
besides front break to the right tyre.
Dio has very big tail lamp.Clear indicators and front light is ok though the design is not liked by many.Dio does not have any cell
charging facilities or some more extra features from tvs and other companies eg streak gives a beep sound while lock is not put to the
vehicle with side stand.No discounts on Telugu festival Ugadi.But only promising performance from honda.Not only engine but we need
to even see the body while choosing the vehicle.Dio has fiber body.And the fiber from honda is good than the other companies fiber
material.Activa and Aviator come with metal bodies.I felt cost also varies because of the metal and fiber body.Same wise TVS wego is
metal body and is much weight while tvs streak is fiber body.
Dio locking system is very weak.We found some discomfort in locking and Activa has got good anti theft locking system.Starting of the
bike is good while locking is big pain and choke is same as Actvia.During delivery I did not receive complete accessories.No mat, No
seat cover, No front storage dikki, No rod for safeguarding vehicle body from crash.They have provided handle covers, indicator buzz, number plates, side foot rest.They have provided these since activa and dio share same few accessories.Still remaining accessories need to come in 15 days.
With better design dio is now on the road.We did around 18kms on the bike.We found nothing worrying.My father and wife are fine with
the weight and pickup.We need to see how it works on long runs.Honda promises more mileage for dio.
If you are looking for best gear less powered vehicle go for dio110cc.Leave the old dio specs.It serves better for any age people.On
road price in Hyderabad before budget was 53, 000 with accessories and rta cost .After budget its Rs.800 more.Activa is now Rs.1000
extra.
