Back in the 1980s, there were imported models of original Honda cd100 running on Indian roads which was a rare gem to see. Later they collaborated with hero, and released the same cd100, ss etc which became massive hit. I still have one CD100ss that is nostalgic and reminds the college days. Now my kids compelled me to get a new bike as the SS has worn out(engine still rocking)!
I analysed the market. to find which is the cd100 version 2? fill, shut, forget it.
I went in dilemma between hero and honda. too bad they split. Honda is the reason why hero became the hero. got into the honda showroom, ok they responded well. mileage was my important factor since my kids school is far away. they said Neo is what I need. well thats not a lie. my son loved it instantly after looking the bike. price is also cheaper for a Honda machine.
Hero were also doing fine but their quality is gone after honda is gone. I cant trust their engine optimization like honda which still does and innovates. the HET technology is the future, there is much explanation about it. so we booked the one with red stripes . After its arrival to my hands, I soon felt the 90s nostalgia as well as the modern conveniences. It was like holding a new CD100ss, a Honda engine is honda afterall. I got it for 55 k including accessories. Engine has a warranty of 5 years(yes, can TVS or Bajaj confident of their engine?)
Final verdict:
This vehicle is worth every rupee and suits an average salaried person like me. No need to search petrol bunk as the mileage is 70 approximately.
Continue innovating Honda. Be a happy customer.
