After an engine repair, my 12 year old 2.85 lakh km run Yamaha CruxR’s mileage was dropped to 50 km, I decided to purchase a new bike. After checking the specifications and price, I found Honda CD110 was suitable for me.
Though the dealer was ready for the delivery, I didn’t get any user review or test ride report from any where about CD110. So I decided to go to the next higher model Honda Dream Neo. On 18-09-2014 I got black with red strips one.
As per user manual 500 km is the running in period, and must avoid sudden acceleration and full throttle operation during this period. First service is between 750-1000 km. Now my bike’s Odo is 854. Yamaha Crux R is 106 CC and has 7.5 Bhp power and 7.4 Nm(6000 RPM) torque and Neo is 109 CC and has 8.25 Bhp power and 8.63 Nm(5500 RPM) torque.
This means more power and pulling and it is true Neo is a powerful bike compare to other 100 CC segment bikes. Ride quality and handling is good. I think this bike perform well above mid range(above 3500 RPM). Even in the fourth gear Overtaking is not a problem. Even I didn’t do my first service, I got 76km/L when keeping within 50-55 Km speed and above 55-65 it is approximate 70km/L. Self Start sometimes didn’t work especially when the bike is cleaning with water.
But it is not a problem. One single kick is enough to start the bike. All other electricals are good. Dim-Bright switch is different from Yamaha. Even though seat is large, I got some back pain. But this may be because of my 12 year sitting position with the Yamaha. Interestingly Neo’s pass-light flasher is DC operated one. Just switch on the ignition and press the pass-light it will work.
