I bought this bike on 10th Aug 2012. This is very good bike from Honda. It is value for money. I found bike very much comfortable, smooth drive & reliable(thanks to tubeless tyres. It gives very good mileage. If you find your DY is giving poor average then read my experience how I solved it. Initially I had problem with average, it was giving 45 kmpl. But then I reported this issue at Honda service center. They took average test drive and found that everything was okay, nothing was required to be corrected for bike. It was giving 72 kmpl when tested.
They told me to change petrol pump if you are getting 45 kmpl average, because bike is giving good mileage. I tried petrol from Shell pump, but it slightly improved to 50 kmpl only. I wasn’t satisfied, so reported again same issue. They tested it again and result was same, it gave average of 75 kmpl. Now I was sure that I am not driving bike in correct way. I was driving bike with speed of 55-70 km/hr. After that I changed my speed to economy speed i.e. 35-45 km/hr and found that now bike is giving average of 72kmpl as Honda has promised.
So I was very Happy.
I found reviews saying DY is not giving good mileage, but I think they should try following things:
You will be getting good mileage definitely.
