Miles ahead of what we used to drive

Like all other Indian middle class families we also used to own, drive and feel proud of our good dutifull bajaj Chetak. Whenever, it broke down or failed to start we considered it as normal and never complained..

But Hold on.. here entered Honda eterno.. which forced us to ask questions about our dutifull chetak and forced bajaj to give up making the largest selling scooters almost abrubtly.

What were these Questions which we never asked and seemed so important now:

  • Why never felt the need of a flat foot board?

Why we never felt against the typical tilt and kick strategy?

Why we felt that the those brakes were all we deserved?

Why we never questioned the concept of press and lock key?

Why is there a neutral between 1st and 2nd gear?

and many more...

Anyways, coming back to the purchase, like many others even we had doubt in first opting for honda (read it as moving away from bajaj) and after a lot of thinking we finally purchased Honda Eterno in first week of Feb ’05.

So far it has done around 12000 kms.. and I never faced any problem with the scooter.

Both ride quality and build quality has been miles ahead of bajaj

Pickup, fuel economy, handling has been amazing.

Wide seat and under seat storage space comes in really handy

No doubt bajaj had to close its scooter operations...
