I own a Wagon-R and looking to upgrade. In that process, went to Honda showroom last week to have a look at new Honda Jazz and taken a test drive of it. I am writing my review based on my observations.
Good things about the car:
The car is fully loaded as per the features like Airbags, ABS, EBD . etc.(You can have look at the complete list of features in the Honda jazz website).
There are no variants to confuse us to choose one. There is only one variant Jazz 1.2. Anyway there is a choice of some accessories to choose and we can add them to the car at any time after the purchase.
Interesting things I found about the car which are worth mentioning are:
Spark Plugs with 1, 00, 000 kms life(No cleaning required).
Fuel filter change at 80, 000 kms.
No change of coolant up to 5, 00, 000 kms
Break fluid and clutch fluid change not required for life time.
100% water proof connectors.
Maintenance free Timing chain. etc.
The list goes on with exiting features like above which we cannot find in any other car of the same segment. So we can undoubtedly conclude that the maintenance of the car is very easy when compared to other cars in the segment.
Interiors of the car look great and stylish. Flexible seating option(60:40 split rear seats) is good for boot space management as per our requirements.
Exterior looks – OK.
Engine was very smooth and we don’t even know that the engine is running while it is idling unless we look at the dashboard. The drive was very smooth and handling was great at high speeds also.
Disappointments about the car are as fallows:
Main disappointment comes with ground clearance of the car(160mm). The ground clearance of my Wagon-R is 165mm and many times especially when I am driving on bad roods, I felt bad about the ground clearance. Jazz comes with event lesser ground clearance.
PRICE is another disappointment. Even though Jazz comes with some exiting features, I feel that the price is aggressive.
Lack of Alloy Wheels is a disappointment.
Conclusion: Fully loaded car(ABS, EBD . etc) with super smooth engine, excellent quality, durability and reliability with less ground clearance(One has to drive very carefully on bad roads) and aggressive pricing.
