Yesterday was the day, when I had the chance of laying my hands on Honda Jazz. I had my wife also with me. First sentence from both of us on looking at Jazz was, wow, that’s a big car! and I uttered it looks like mini Innova! which sales guy happily acknowledged. After brief inspection of the car I observed following:
EXTERNALLY: Aerodynamic shape, clean lines, huge size, attractive lamps, no alloy wheels(remember this is the it is top most AND only variant available in India though other markets have many variants).
INTERNALLY: Huge space, attractive dash with lots of information but I didn’t like the centre console, a bit greying and boring, seats were comfortable and folding arrangement is innovative, lacks parcel tray. Steering mounted controls are good but music system does not have USB / iPOD interface.
SAFETY: ABS, EBD & Only 2 airbags where as cars with 6 airbags are also available now in around same dough.
Test Drive: A brief test drive gave me following impression:
Torqy, responsive engine with adequate power to pull this car, brakes are good but with little feel, somehow clutch seemed to be under pressed, something was obstructing its full downward movement, gear shiftwas not very slick may be because of clutch, steering appeared too light not enough of feedback, appeared bit understeered. Visibility is good(though I could not see the bonnet line, which I do not like personally).
If you have enough money in your bank account and love to have a small / mini sporty car, go buy it, else stay away.
