Honda Shine is almost the perfect commuter. It is reliable, it offer comfort and fuel economy, and is easy to handle. Hondas vast service centers is another plus point. It has nice looks. But I would not say it is perfect since it could have been better in two areas. One, the motorcycle is dated. The instrument console is fully analog, while its main rival Glamour has a part analogue part digital console. Also the design is not eye catching. Two, it has a four speed transmission. An extra gear, that is a fifth gear is a necessary for smooth riding in highways. Honda has rectified these two problems and introduced the new CB Shine SP with five speed transmission, digital part in the console and better looks. But it comes at a price.
Shine offers a mileage of around 60 kmpl. It has a top speed of 95kmph. It weighs almost 10 kilograms less than Glamour and it looks smaller too. In my opinion, glamour is suited for big guys and shine for guys with average height and weight.
