Relocating from Karnataka to Tamilnadu forced me to sell my TVS Victor GX and look of new bike. After lot of consideration I have chosen to go for Honda brand, as I am impressed with its pickup. Initially there was a dilema of seleting Unicorn or Shine. But considering my average body built and the kind of parking facility we will be getting in india, I have choosen shine, which is lighter than Unicorn.
During test drive Unicorn was much smoother than Shine. Finally brought Honda Shine 125 cc with alloy wheels in May 2007 from Didar motors chennai. The pickup was good and disc brackes doing well. Initially the engine was getting hot after just 10 km of continuous driving, which is solved after first service.
The on road mileage as per dealer was 60+, but I am getting near to 45km/ltr only till now (even after first service - 1200 km done). Whereas , Victor GX returned good 60+ mileage at bangalore (at 17000 km running length). But the built and stability are good, when you consider driving in the roads of chennai guindy - velachery - madipakkam areas. The looks are decent for the office executives / family man. The riding was comfortable for 3 members (self, spouse and 2 yr kid).Trip meter, aero type fuel lid closure, better driver’s foot rest will improve the product .
