Ride on...............

Just the other day, I chanced upon swarup honda showroom in East del. and thought about trying my hand on the new Honda offering Shine.............

Shine as the placard along with the bike read is a 125 cc bike.

Looks

Lookwise Shine is not a very good looker, though by no stretch of the imagination can it be dismissed as a very average bike. Shine’s fit & finish quality as we all have seen with the Unicorn is impeccable. The grey colour as well as red colour shine looks pretty okay if not outstanding.

Ride

Presently Shine is available in only kick start version, Showroom people say that the self start version too will be out soon. One kick was all it took to start the shine. I put the bike in first gear and off we go……

The gears are really smooth and the pickup I believe is amongst the best in the 125cc segment. I quickly accelerated to 60kmph. I touched 97kmph before the road came to an end or I believe it could go even more faster.

The company claims a mileage of 65knpl I believe that even that should be some what near that figure company claims as the Unicorn, which I presently own gives me 58 when the company claimed 60. The Shine’s ride is ultra smooth with not much bother. Shine has been endowed with technologies such as CV Carburettor etc. which will I believe help it give real high mileage

The company’s has provided the Shine with Puncture resistant tube that is of great help if you get a nail in the wheel . The company has also provided primary kick to the bike that allows bike to be kick started in any gear.

The Shine is powered by a new specially developed for India Optimax engine which develops 10.3 bhp and at the time of the test ride I felt that the bike follows in the footsteps of its elder brother the Unicorn ‘ultra smooth’.

All in all I believe that the Shine is a good buy which will provide years of trouble free ownership experience to its owners.

Hence I would suggest you all too test ride the shine and ride on…………..
