Cons And Pro's of Unicorn

Hey I am a first time poser here.

Its not a kind of review but I need some doubts to be clarified and moreover I am really bugged at hearing too much praise for this HONDA UNICORN

In this site, so I thought why not drill some negatives on it.

I think I’ve followed it well right from the launch so might be useful.

Also I read all the reviews about it posted here. So here goes my findings..

Is this Unicorn really delivering what the HONDA claim.

Mileage: 60 on Indian Road conditions.

But I heard that its just giving 40-45 in most cases and very rarely it gives 50-55 per litre.

when asked about this, the HONDA guys tell me that it varies on driver to driver.

They expect us to drive it in a speed of 40-50 km/hour.

If I wish to drive it that way I would have gone for Splendor which serves the purpose delivering me high milage and 0 maintanance.

Now why HONDA then.

Tuff up tubes:

According to my knowledge, I don’t find it that useful.

It doesn’t prevent punctures but it prolongs by keeping the air intact for 30-45 minutes.

so my question is..

How can the rider know when his tyre got punctured.

Without knowing this , he’ll drive out of home to get strangled in the middle

of the road when this feature actually pulls off after 30-45 minutes.

Moreover you need to check for any punctures once in 3 months to make sure there isn’t any punctures,

which is a waste of money and time.

Economics:

If you think this bike costs 54900 on road EX Chennai rates., you have mistaken.

The standard vehicle comes with 2 mirrors and a saree guard.

Apart from these, you ll have to get the

Crash Bar 357.00 Rs

Number plate 150

I cant see any other bike without these standard fittings comming out of the factory itself.

apart from these, u ll have to shell out

Buzzer 60

Engine guard 250

Tank Bag 200

Seat Cover 250

Handle grip 60

If you want more, then

Security Alarm 1750 Rs.

These are the prices I heard in Lodha Honda Chennai.

Horn is pure Dumbo.we have to replace it with a new one.

Honda guys claim its within accordance with noise norms in India.

Even driving more than 60 km/ hr is illegal in India, why do you give us this bike then.

Adding all these you could better get the proven 55 km /ltr BAJAJ PUlSAR with a better performance, looks, Electric Startand what not except for the mono shocks for this 58000 odd Rupees.

Looks:

Black color looks virtually like a mortuary van color.

Blue, Red, Silver are meant to be liked by villagers who prefer really bright colors.

The paint finish is best though.

It comes out with very less stickering which makes it to look like nothing special at all.

This shows HONDA has cut costs through out, just concentrating on Engine and performance.

What I like in UNICORN?

Its newly launched, so not many would own it.

You see pulsar everywhere and it lost its charm now.

Mono Shocks :

Great to ride. You ll not feel any bumps in the worst of roads.

The side view of rear looks different due to this monoshocks.

But 1 thing here is, ..

Its amazingly silent when you start it.

Has a very good pickup, Very comfortable.

I also heard that the tank is leaking in 1 of the latest review, which I couldnt get what the reviewer was talking about.

if thats true then we have serious problems.

Instead of all the dilemma, I am going for it and am gonna get it this weekend.

I have chosen Geny grey which I felt a bit different from other colors which are very common in other brands.
