After reading lots of comments, reviews and test ride decided to buy Unicorn-self Start blue color.
When I visited a dealer there was a RED unicorn for display, which took my heart and gave order for RED one. After 4 days, he called me and said my bike is ready.
It was on Oct 11 2005 (self start on road price 60, 046 in Bangalore) evening my first bike was in my hands (though I ride my friends bikes until now). Hardly had a petrol (Just 2ltrs) first job was to do is, fill tank. Bike comes sari guard, and with 7 free service (may change).
IMPRESSIONS:
starting: Its a self start, till now I haven’t used kick to start, and have no plans to use kick in future too. Morning it requires choke to start the vehicle. When the bike is in idle mode engine rpm is around 1.5k-2k rpm, with choke reaches around 3k rpm.
Riding: Has a good pickup, good handling, braking and is well balanced. In bumper to bumper traffic one can go in top gear at 20-25kmph without any hycups at the engine.
Comfort: Seating is comfort at the rider, pillion rider gets a bit jerk at the humps. Handle placing is at ease one can go for long rides without any pain in arms and back.
Mileage: I am getting around 43-45km pl before first service. After first service It might increase to at least 50+
Cleaning: Though there is an engine guard, engine bottom part gets dirt, Mono shocks gets dirt, since, there is a small gap. This problem is only in the rainy season. May be other bikes also have these problem.
Overall Having a happy ride in city.
