Old technology monoshock without linkage

The bike is very good, except for its lack of digital gagets. Honda seems to be giving old technology to us Indians. They were the last to bring out alloy wheels in India, remember.

Although Unicorn is the first bike in India with monoshocks, the monoshock in Unicorn is mounted with crude, old technology. In unicorn, the monoshock is attached directly to the frame, which is outdated technology. There is no link or linkage attached to the monoshock. The Yamaha R15 has linkage monoshock at the rear, see it to know the difference.

Correct me, if I am wrong on this one, please. Another problem one could have is because of the engine itself being a stressed member, i.e., it not only acts as an engine, it also acts as part of the supporting frame. So, if you have a crash guard attached, and if your crash guard takes an impact in an accident or fall, the impact will be directly on the engine, not on the frame.

Other than these factors, the bike is very good and reliable. Especially the new 2009 model looks much better.
