I purchased my Honda CB Unicorn on Oct 24th 2013. So far I have completed 2800+ kms on average of 550+ kms per month. Now my bike is ready for 3rd service.
First I want to speak about Mileage, my bike is giving 45-50 kmpl at a speed of 45-55 kmph, 40-45 kmpl at a speed 55 - 60 kmph, 40-42 kmpl at a speed of 60-70 kmph. Figures are not exact, sometimes I use to get even low mileage.
Pick up is good but not so great like other Pulsar, CBZ, FZ bikes. I told at my servicing center so many times about pickup problem, but they keep on say one-thing, if I keep little high pickup I will get extremely low mileage, I asked them to tune in such a way I want both pickup and little mileage. They failed to do so all the time.
Performance is superb, no engine problem, no starting problems, no oil leakage or any sudden engine shutdowns.
One major disadvantage is bike Headlights, It gives very low, inconstant lighting, I work in night shifts and I really need good light to visible the roads as roads r not that clear in my way from office to home. So many times I took my bikes on potholes because of poor lights of my bike. When u hold the clutch to change the gear from 4 - 1 then my bike lighting is almost dim, can’t visible the road at all. It is similar to my old Bajaj Scooter, when I hold clutch I cant see the light on meter nor on headlights. I feel shy to compare Unicorn headlight with my old bajaj scooter. Please guys give me solution for it, can I go to outside and resolve this problem? I need constant light like Avengers, CBZ’s, Pulsar.
Mono Suspension is not that great, but OK. Riding comfort is superb, I traveled on long drive with my Unicorn, no problem at all, I crossed 100+ speed. and it takes sometime for pickup, cannot use for race with other bikes.
So these r my experience with Honda CB Unicorn. This is my first bike. And I use my bike very carefully. Even at changing clutch I take care alot. I like smooth driving. That is why I preferred Unicorn. I never regret for choosing Unicorn.
But main problem is Pick Up and Headlight.
Am ready to change my bike Headlights, So Please suggest me, can I use any other bulb for good lighting in dark night and for constant lighting is there any mechanism to change?
