Honda Unicorn..IT GROWS ON YOU

I bought a Honda Unicorn with Self start three days back. I had been planning to buy a bike for the last 3 years but my use is limited and I was driving a car full time. I also had an old bike from my college days. Hence I kept postponing my decision.

I did a lot of research Karizma, Pulsar, Royal Enfields you name it. The bike I actually wanted to buy was Honda CB250 twin. Now it is changed to CBF250 single and it is a beauty. I wanted something with enough power so 250cc and around 20 BHP is perfect. And something which has perfect finish and decent standard (conventional)looks.

Anyway I decided that I dont want to wait indefinitely for the launch of CBF250 in India and believe me Honda will launch it here one day. I just decided to buy unicorn (which is CBF150) for the time being. I did not have much expectations from it, basically it was a stop gap purchase for me.

On 31st Jan I went to a dealer in Jaipur and booked it thinking I will have to wait for 1-2 months for delivery. Surprise surprise they got a few extra Self start versions and I got my bike in 4 days flat. I rode the bike properly for the first time after buying it and it is so smooth. It?s a beauty. The looks grow on you. It may not be a stunner at first sight but look again it is so proportionate.

My wife is a designer and I respect her opinion and she found it perfect. It does not have masculine looks and thank god for that? in my mind a bike is always a SHE. The ride quality is very good. Mono shock is fabulous? gears are silk smooth no false neutrals or anything. Pickup is really good. Self start is amazing just a touch and she purrs.

Let me finish the breakin period and I will write more about performance at 80 or 90 kmph and of course the mileage.
