I gotta HONDA.. Update

I got my HONDA Unicorn on 30 oct , but not before an agonising delay of 22 days from the promised date of delivery. When I decided to go for a bike in 150 cc segment, I had earlier zeroed in on Fiero Fx. But at the same time, HONDA announced its launch of Unicorn.

I went to showroom to have a look on the bike and after a little bit of thought, I decided to go for it and booked the Tahitian Candy Blue Unicorn on the first day. Frankly speaking, A fair contribution to my decision was of the Brand ’’HONDA’’. I agree that it was a big risk (It could have costed me 57 K!!!) , but now I don’t regret my risk. HONDA has not let me down.

When it comes to looks departments, I agree with what has been pointed out by other writers , It has incorporated features from various other bikes especially from CBZ. But guess what.. the Bike looks absolutely Great and outstanding. You can feel it really when Unicorn is parked side by side along with other bikes in its segment.

When it comes to performance department... its 149CC, 13.5 bhp engine leaves no space for regrets. The bike is exceptionally smooth and meets all the promises made by HONDA. Just have a ride and u will feel the difference

When it comes to Mileage department, I think it will be fair on my part to take the mileage after the first service. As of now , its giving me 43 Km/ltr. But the dealer has assured me that there will be significant increase in it after the first service. Hoping for the best !!! Will update this figure after the first service.

The Monoshock absorber plays its magic both in the Handling and Looks department. Riding the Unicorn is very comfortable and handles the uneven roads very well and doesn’t allows the shocks and vibrations to reach upto ur body.

Considering HONDA, its needless to mention, the build and paint quality is superb.

And for those guys, who are also concerned about what impact does the bike has on their status, let me add one more point..... Unicorn is a cynosure. It just attracts the attention of the public. People come close to you and ask questions about it. As you park the Unicorn, you can easily see a lot of eyes inspecting ur bike closely. and why not..Unicorn truly deserves it.

I have a lot to say about Unicorn... But I am not getting the exact words to describe. The only thing I will say is ’’Melody khao, Khud jaan jao!!!’’

=====================Update======================

I am back after the 1st service of my Bike. Well.. The Milage is 61 km/l and that is really gr8 for me. I have seen the milage figures by other members and they are quoting the milage at around 53 km/lt. But in my case, its far better. This could be probably due to the reason that my daily run is about 40kms and I usually ride at a speed range of 45-60 km/hr.

Regarding complains of Gear shifting, I did feel minor problems when I try to shift quickly from 5th gear to 3rd gear. It would change smoothly to 4th gear but it doesn’t go down to 3rd gear unless u release the clutch once.

But after a clutch adjustment, the problem was rectified.

That’s all. I am pretty much satisfied with the bike.
