Unicorn . Cool . BUT ??

Well Guys I have done 1200 Kms in 14 days I owned the Bike. I drove it generally between 40-45 The Bike Gave me an Average of around 55+. It Seems to be Doing Well no Problems at All Except One about which I left a Comment on Honda’s Website which I will Paste here also so beware and take care.


The Comment is :


Hi, I Live in Delhi.Well this is the Second Time I am Writing to You People. Got No Response or Acknoladgement Earlier. Something I dont Expect.


Well I am a Owner of Unicorn and what I Feared from Start Is coming true , something which led to the fall of many Foreign companies even though they had Superior/ Competitive Product. Mine is an Observation, rest is Up to You. What I am Talking here about is After Sales Services I am telling you my Experience and it does not does Justice to HONDA’S name. I went for my first Service on 21st of November and was Promptly told that Please come back for the service next Day we are not Accepting any vehicle for today(even though I had fixed an appointment on phone the Previous night) the time I reached the Service station was 12 noon .I was angry but a supervisor assured me bring yur Bike at 12 or 1 tommarow I will get it done in 1 hour.


Well what could I have done I went next day same time, there was alredy a long line it took me exactly 1 hour to get a Job Card made it was 1 by now. then it was the lunch time at 1:30 Serviceman came back I waited till 2 but nobody even touched the Bike at 2:15 after my reminding again the Supervisor got a person for the Bike . He took Exactly 15 Mins to service the Bike and 5 Mins to Wash it and the service was done. What I Observed was a Long Line and Hasseled Consumers while talking most of them were complaining about Service Quality and the wait Time they did not know where to Complain .


The Service Staff behaviour was nice but Inefficiency and Resource Crunch is never compensated by being nice. I will not draw any Conclusions here and Please Do not Say Sorry also , What I really want to see is a brand like HONDA grow but I Guess that is Only Possible if you can Inculcate Customer Service attitute and some Planning into Your Dealers. You are Intelligent enough and know what to DO.And Yes I am Unhappy the way my Bike’s 1st Service was Done.

Seems Like the Honda Dealers are Chewing more then they can Bite and Guys I dont have Time to waste Half a Day for a Service for the Bike I will Prefer Paying and get it Done from a Competitive Place fast and Properly , but Guess what that Makes the Warrenty Void. Wow, we dont give you a Good After Sales Service But we wont let you go anywhere else. If this Happens Again which I fear It will the what Recourse Do I have ?? Any Suggestions. . . .



Well I Got my Unicorn today, I always belived in the 150 CC category for me and the only choices before Unicorn was Pulsur and Fiero . Fiero did not catch my fancy and I think Pulsar does not have any USP okay I looks Really good but Today Everybody seems to be having one, and secondly I was not Convinced about the Durability of Pulsar, thirdly Discover based on the looks of Pulsur fades its USP more. As for HONDA its the best and something coming straight out of Hondas stable gotta be good so thats my Choice.


Anyhow got Unicorn tommarow, Have driven it only 20 Kms but in coming days I will be adding miles very fast cause have to travel 80 kms daily to and fro from Office. I will tell you about fuel efficieny and performance soon as I add Miles.


Going through the Manual found out that Honda recommends Fuel of Octane 91 or more and this octane level is available only in branded/Premium fuels only. Now the Choice for me between IOC Xtra premium and Power cause these are near to my home, well Power has Octane level of 93 so it suites me fine. Apart from giving me better mileage it is supposed to keep the engine free of carbon deposits. Lets see how it fares. Will keep you Updated on the Performance.


One thing I will Like to bring to Notice is the Service Level of the Dealers they are not UP to the Level as Honda is, they gotta become more customer freindly and responsive to customers needs. I belive Honda can Inculcate some good Traits in them. As for Hero Honda I went to there showroom twice for enquiry about Ambition and found there representatives behave badly. They seem to be suffering from Largest Bike seller Syndrome, but thats gonna change I belive as Honda enters on its own in Indian market.


Anyhow thanks to all the Guys who have written till now it was a great help Will write when as and when I will find anything new Till then Chao and HAPPY DIWALI to all of you.
