I bought a honda unicorn on 13 Apr 2009 from sudarshan motor, nagpur. So far I’ve clocked around 9500 Km , and let me tell you this bike is in a class of its own. Its pleasure driving this bike. I have driven the bike to nearby places and have touched the speed of 100kn/h, and even at this sppeds the bike is stable. you feel confident while driving this one.
The engine, this one is a gem from honda. Honda has set benchmark with this engine. Actually I always try compare the engine of any new bike launched with this one.Its very refined and you just cannot hear the sound of the engine when an unicorn passes by. I was actually thrilled by this experience. I used to envy all those guys who used to drive their unicorn and I would just look at them. But not now, coz I also own one now. The engine is also quite efficient. I am not an driving enthusiast, so I usually drive it around 50-60km/h to enjoy the feel. And the FE figures are quite impressive. It usually returns FE of 53-54km/lt on avg.
Now the ride and handling - no doubt its the best. you just can take this bike on any terrain and its monoshock wont disappoint you. Even the front schockers absorb all the shocks and dont let the jerks travel to your body. The MRF zappers add to the handling by adding extra road grip. You can just glide over the roads with this one.
Space and comfort - the bikes seat is spacious and the seating position is perfect.The seat is quite long and broad even at the back. This proves helpful when you are on long drives. The bike is quite tall also so anyone betn 5.5 - 6ft can drive this bike comfortably
Looks- well the unicorn clearly is ageing now, and honda must upgrade this one. I guess they are going to launch the upgraded unicorn named as "Dazzler". But what I still like of this unicorn is its tank. It gives a very masculine and macho feel to it. Overall the bike looks beautiful because I m in love with it.
To sum up, this is a perfect bike if you want to enjoy the quality and feel the driving pleasure. From this bike its crystal clear about the passion the Japanese people have for achieving quality products.
