UNICORN....... THE AMAZING ONE.

THE REVIEW THAT I AM WRITING BELOW IS PURELY BASED ON PESONAL EXPERIENCES. IF ANY READER HAS ANY DIFFERENCES IN THE BELOW MENTIONED POINTS, THEN PLEASE FEEL FREE TO COMMENT TO RECTIFY MY MISTAKES. THANK YOU!

  1. HOW DID I COME TO KNOW ABOUT THE BIKE AND ITS SPECIALITIES???

Well, I came to know about the bike from mouthshut only. I first read all the reviews, and then I thought its worth a try for a test ride, and so I finally landed on top of the bike. I kept in mind whatever pros and cons our mouthshut members had with the bike.

  2. PICK UP.

Well, the pick up is excellent. I didn’t try too hard, but giving more than half throttle, I felt that I was flying! I didn’t try too hard because I didn’t have any helmet with me, and secondly, it was a new bike of my friend. The bike really pulls you ahead when on full throttle. Another point to be kept in mind is that my friend who owned the bike was also sitting on the pillion seat. So imagine the pick up when you are driving alone...

  3. COMFORT.

Superb. I cant describe the comfort. It is simply amazing. Never did I have such a smooth ride. The suspension was new, that is why. Now when the bike gets old, I dont know whether the suspension will remain that way or not. Time will tell that. But on the new one, the suspension is simply amazing..... Never thought that mono suspension will work. I thought that even with two suspensions here in India in almost all the bikes, we dont get the expected comfort, but the mono suspension was superb...

  4. GEAR SHIFTING.

Well, the gear shifting is really really smooth. It is 100 times smoother than the pulsar. The only problem is that of the one down and four up type of pattern. This might be a nuisance, but the gearstick is full, not like that of the CBZ, only on one side. So that is not a big problem. But another problem is that you have to give is a longer throw to shift gears. That is, you have to push the gearstick or gear-lever a little more down (in first gear) and a little more up (in other gears). Ok. You must compromise with this atleast for comfort. In pulsar, when I use to drive my friend’s bike, it gives sudden loud kicking sound from gear, and then I have to hold the clutch, and then leave it again. So when I am in a mood of overtaking a bus or something like that, I the above mentined problem happens and I have to do the needful, and go back again and then prepare for another try to overtake the vehicle. I also get embarassed when this happens, because everyone lookd at me. They might be thinking that I dont know how to drive. No such kind of nuisance in UNICORN.

  5. MILEAGE.

Well, I’ve heard that the bike gives an average of around 49 kmpl. That was a case with my friend’s bike. Well, he drives a little rash. He was astonished and surprised, when he saw me driving smoothly. I believe that the bike gives you mileage according to your driving style. It must give you a decent 55+ kmpl, if you drive the bike at a modest 45kmph speed, which is, I believe, the best speed for best average. Mileage is also not a big problem.

  6. SUSPENSION.

As I have discussed above, in the comfort point, the suspension is superb. I dont think that you need any further discussion or information about the suspension. Its simply awesome.

  7. STYLING.

Well, the headlamps need quite a bit of a change. It doesnt suit the bike, according to bike’s calibre. Rest of the bike’s body is quite well designed. The tail lamps are similar to that of a karizma, but it’ll do. It looks good. The fuel tank shape is also good. But I suggest that the shape of handle should be modified a bit, to give a sporty look. The gear and brake foot-rests should also be a little behind, as in the CBZ, to give a better stance, and a sporty look. That feels a little comfortable. Rest everything, according to me, is quite fine.

  8. STUNTS/CIRCUS.

Well, I have not yet tried wheeling and nose wheeling on this bike. Nor have I any personal experiences of rash using of this bike. Hence I recommend not to use this bike harshly, as this bike is of Honda, and if it gets out of shape, then it will tax your wallet heavily to get it back in shape. Well, this thing is obvious, that one should not use one’s bike harshly.... So drive easily at a speed of 40 when you are alone, and in doubles, drive at around 50kmph, so that load on the engine governor reduces and you get better mileage... This bike is a heavy one, so if you want to do stunts on it, think twice, as only experienced drivers may be able to handle such a heavy bike. Try stunting on a lighter bike, then on this. But if you want more out of your bike, then its better to stay away from such nuisances (stunting) for your bike.

  9. OWNERS.

This bike is for the younger generation. When I see old people on such bikes, I feel pity on the bike. Better control on the bike with time, will make this bike a sure zooom on the road. But usual problems due to vibrations and poor shock absorbing system will not be a problem for parents to sit on the pillion seat thanks to the new mono shock suspension system. Now the shape of the bike also depends on the owner. One should maintain one’s bike regularly, to maintain and increase its life.

OK ENOUGH NOW. THIS WAS MY REVIEW ON THE UNICORN! ABOVE REVIEW IS BASED ON MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCES ONLY. ANY DIFFERENCES OR MISTAKES IN THE ABOVE REVIEW ARE MOST WELCOME TO BE RECTIFIED MY MESSAGES. THANK YOU!
