Unicorn -- It's Unique

I have been riding this bike from past 2 years. when I saw this bike(2004) on Honda’s website, I was little upset with its look. My expectation from Honda was different since they have introduced sports bikes worldwide. After few days I visit Honda showroom and took test ride. Before this I tried CBZ and Pulsar.Riding Unicorn was amazing, I couldn’t belive that I am riding 150cc bike in terms of Handling, Roadgrip.I took few of my friends to showroom who didn’t know about this bike but  familiar with other 150cc bikes. They were impressed with the bike and noticed that there are no rear suspensions.I briefly explain them about Mono shock and its advantages.

I booked the Grey color bike and it was out of stock. I had to wait for the delivery. One day I got call from dealer Shantesh Honda Hubli to take the delivery of the bike.I went around the bike to check the paint and dents if any.I noticed that paint at the rear side of the bike had some drop marks. I asked them to change it.

I was told there are no stock and will replace during the first service. I surprised with how bike got QA passed.Honda is known for its quality products worldwide. They are not maintaining this with its bike segment. Later I noticed that the color mentioned in the RC book was black and they deliverd grey color bike. when I aksed the dealer I was told that since that color was out of stock, they had changed the fuel tank and rear graphics and deliver the bike.I never expected this from the dealer, they have cheated me.

SERVICE:

Honda service is poor. One thing I realise that if there is a good product in market, you cannot expect the good service. It happens in many cases but except Maruti suzuki. Most of the service centres give importance to its scooter segment than the bike. If I say I have to get my bike serviced, they look like they are not aware of Unicorn. It happened with many service centres. We have to check their JOB card before handover the bike otherwise they will unnecessarily change the spares like indicator bulbs, tail lamps etc.

PERFORMANCE:

I agree that Uni has slow pickup compare to other 150cc, but never felt that I need more than this.

Pickup is smooth and take you to the maximum speed as you open the thruttle.Gear shift is just a slick.Engine is silent but delivers 13bhp power.Seating position is designed in such way that you don’t feel fatique even after long distance.Unique mono suspension prevents discomfort due to the sudden jerk due to bad road condition. Its a perfect blend of power and comfort.

MILAGE:

Belive it or not, I am getting 55KMPL(Avg) in Bangalore traffic, travel distance is about 30KM/day.

I fill the tank with IOC normal petrol.
