I purchased a new Honda Unicorn on Jan 2012, it’s the 2nd of april today and I’ve ridden it about 7500 kms. So I use the bike a lot. Th ereason for this purchase (downgrade after a 500) was essentially to save on fuel. The bike has given a standard mileage of 40kmpl after 3 services against the claims of 60kmpl. (which is just 10kmpl more than my Royal Enfield Machismo 500).
I needless to say ride hard. on an average cover 130Kms everyday on smooth expressways. no doubt the high end torque is good, I constantly ride at 80-100 for an hour at a time. mileage seems to be a cheating factor for me.
A BIG THUMBS DOWN and the bike has started to cause neck pains, which 10 years of touring on enfields didnt.
