Hi i’m a proud owner of Unicorn sporty..since it was my first bike I was a lot bit confused on which model to choose Bajaj or Honda..since there were too many pulsars around I was bit hesitated to take a P150....after reading the reviews on mouth shut and consulting my friends(one of them was a official of Bajaj showroom, who too opted unicorn!) I went for unicorn on april 2007...
*The Experience
I had a little bit difficulty in the run in period bcoz I was of medium built and de bike was a bit heavy...after getting adjusted. You know it was pure fun. Everyone stood and noticed my Uni since it was de first one in my locality(i bet, u wont find this even if u take a P200). The riding was pure fun...i breezed through de traffic with ease and de monoshock well took care of the potholes..and u have ample seat base to take care of ur butts...hi hi I guarantee dat!!Even if u take ur hands off the bike it always follow a straight line path. Honda s engineering skillls!!
*The Pros
1.The Built:** u can never question Hondas quality....its so well built dat even after 22k kms its as freh as a new bike...the swithches, body panels, paint work all of top class quality(get a teflon coating done and the paint wont fade)...check out de parts by urself and u can see it ...disc brake from KBX, head light from PHILIPS, Germany(both world leaders in their classes)..the list goes on
2.The Engine:the **butter smooth engine and gear shift. You wont find any lag in response once u open the throttle...it just races on and it well keep its quality even when you cruise @ 100+kms...no vibrations...no unwanted noice...just the pure musical note of engine. Try that on a pulsar and u can hear de orchestra within de engine after 70 kms.
3.The seating posture: ** Though not sporty unicorn has got the best seating position in its class. Try travelling 100kms on a unicorn and u wont get fatigued. In a pulsar u are sure to get muscle spasms and back pain...y sacrifice our health for the looks???
4.The mileage: I always get a mileage of 40-45 kms in short trips(may be owing to constant gear shifts) and 55+ in long trips. I have even got 72km/l..but I find it once in a while phenomenon
5.The after sales Service:** I found the service people as responsible guys...i took my bike from Johns Honda , Thrissur and and having my service done at purakkal honda, kottayam...both are equally good...get the bike returned on time...and the service well done
The cons
The horn cud have been louder..bcoz people wont even know that your coming even within 5 metres due to the silent engine
An LCD display could have been an added advantage the longer u drive a Unicorn the more u will fall in love with it. Happy biking!!!!!
