Initially I wanted to purchase TVS Apache as it was shorter than other vehicle in this segment and easy to ride for me like average height person. I tool a few test ride on Apache (that time 150 cc) and decided to go for it until one of my friend asked me to drive his unicorn home.
That moment and till now I feel my decision was correct to go for Unicorn. Pulsar was never in my mind as I had seen many friends with Pulsar which starts creating noise after a year or two and seating not that much comfortable as Unicorn (you need to bend a little bit forward to drive which I really don’t like specially when I am going to use my vehicle for daily commuting)
I found I was able to reach ground when steady on Unicorn (in fact this was my biggest concern that Uni’s height is a bit more than Pulsar and Apache so whether I will be able to stop it in traffic or not)
So the deal was done that I was going for Unicorn and luckily the same week they launched GP edition with Orange colored bike (that made my decision stronger as this bike was looking distinct and rare :)).
The next day I went to showroom and booked it with 100% payment using my card (that shows some passion :))
I love this bike as few things are really best in this category.
1> Its color (a no of people asked me on road how did you get this color)
2> Rear shocker (mono suspension is really cool)
3> Mileage (am getting 50+ in city like Bangalore)
4> Maintainability (i haven’t spent extra money on any repairing or puncture now except servicing)
5> Comfort (seating position is really comfortable in this vehicle)
6> Pickup (enough for you going ahead in traffic but not enough to race around)
7> Engine sound is really lower than other bikes.
I found this to be a good choice with these features.
Few cons:
1> Not having engine on/off switch like pulsar which helps in traffic.
2> A generic statement. These guys never upgrades engine instead they keep changing looks. I had to pay some 3000 extra just for look as this was a limited edition.
3> In winter time it takes time to start the engine.
Till now I have been a happy customer of this vehicle. :)
If you are looking for a vehicle focusing on street racing I would rather suggest not to go for it. If are a cool, calm customer and having patience on the road I would suggest to go for this.
The engine will be same as first day (this is what I found rather better than the first day)
