This is my first review. I have not ridden any bike other than Unicorn, so I can’t compare it with other bikes. I got my bike on 12 July 2013, I have completed about 6000 km. I am not a regular rider, occasionally use it for transport.
I ride mostly in city area, partly NH as well. Well lets start with positives. It is a decent bike with good acceleration, smooth gear shift, high stability on Highways and great mileage (provided you drive safe and below 55 kmph). On empty highways, it is a true beast. I don’t usually drive mad like a valentino rossi, but yeah. I have clocked 105 kmph nevertheless, I could have accelerated more but vibrations and fear of falling pulled me back.:)
Mileage is superb, if you ride mostly in top gear, and between 45 and 55 kmph (below 5k rpm). 60 is the best. I have got so far.which is city+ HIghway. Talking about cons. self-start is a problem, especially on rainy mornings. Sometimes we have to use choke. But once started. then its ok!
Gear sometimes gets stuck! its not a big problem. after some experience with bike, it won’t bother you.
I had some issues brakes (both front and rear). But these were rectified after service. I must say, Honda Service is not good. its better to go to a local mechanic after free services.
Other than that. I dont have any complaints. Honda could have made it a little more stylish. But anyway, Unicorn is more classic than sporty I guess.
for me, I am completely satisfied with this beauty of a machine!
