My second review!!
1st review before getting the UNICORN.. Now a proud owner for the past 4 months, one with no alloy(Gene grey) - Just missed out on the new one by 30days.. Could have waited longer. But no regrets.. Here is my review..
Mileage: I’m a not a rash rider, But still touched 108kmph easily on the newly laid road (IT Corridor - Chennai) from adyar towards old mahabalipuram road.. I ride the bike in varying speed but still i manage a good 50kmpl.. Clocked 3200kms so far without strain..
Comfort: I never expected this feel from such a heavy weight champion.. I simply blend with my bike.. I weigh 74kg and height is 175cms.. I’ve even received a lot of comments from my friends, they say MADE FOR EACH OTHER.. I had a HH Passion before this for the past 5yrs and now handed over to my brother.. Still goin good(HH Reliability)..
Breaking:** Fabulous. No skidding.. I lean a lot in the curves.. Even the skinny rear tyre serves its purpose.. Disk break its is spot on..
Gear system: Butter smooth.. No false neutrals so far.. Shifting from 1st to 2nd needs more pressure though, that is understandable.. Comments from friends who own Apache’s, Pulsar’s - they say silky soft.. My room mates own a pulsar DTSI(ug2) and Apache.. I do go for a lot of ride on these bikes.. They are no match to unicorn in this department..
Acceleration: I disappear out of the crowded chennai city traffic signals and mostly enjoy a lonely ride.. Thankz to crisp pickup..
Lookz: This is where UNICORN(No alloy) looses out to the competitors.. So i’ m lookin for a change.. I don’t want to go for company alloys the black one and I need assistance from the MSians here.. Where do I go for good alloys and how much is it gonna cost me.. I live in adyar chennai..
And also need a wide rear tyre.. I need suggestions & specifications on these..
So can some one help me on this ( ALLOY and WIDE REAR TYRE )??
Is my warranty gonna be affected by making these changes?? (which is 26, 000 kms or 3yrs which ever is earlier) and is the performance of the bike gonna go down?? I heard from my friends that wide rear tyre puts a lot of stress on the engine.. Help me out guys..
Cons: Initially I faced cold start problem.. Now its just push of a button any day any time.. Vrrooom.. The engine comes to life.. No annoying sound which I usually get when gettin the Pulsar and Apache to life.. Note: Two of my friends have already got their SELF MOTORS replaced in their Apache’s(warranty claim)..
Vibrations in the VISOR.. I used to get vibrations in lower gears(1, 2).. Reported to KUN HONDA(Adyar) got it fixed.. Started again in two days time( they just added sum rubber feeding here and there ).. Did not go back to them since I was busy.. Got it fixed in 2nd service.. Now my UNI is a silent killer..
Poor rear view mirrors.. I’m disappointed..
Fuel lid is also a bit disturbing.. (they have changed it in new version)
