I bought the bike about 2 years ago ( may 2009) a black one during my final year graduation. I had a test drive on my friends pulsar 150, cbz, and suzuki gs 150 r from showroom before opting unicorn. Now I feel good for that decision. I am listing the prons/ cons from my experience. Today my bike crossed 21000 kms.
Prons: 1-powerfull 150 cc 13.1 bhp silent honda engine gives pretty good acceleration.
2- the most comfortable riding position among 150 cc bike for long rides. I had driven from palakkad to changanassery > 250 km at a strech with short tea brakes during my college days. Apart from some dust alllergy I was extremely ok with my joints- I think no other bike will give this experience excluding enfield n other cruiser bikes.
3-maintanence is not much expensive with regular services.
4- classic executive look which delivers us confidence after college days...not much sporty ( bike for all ages)
5- heavy 150 kg bike gives stability even at 90 km/hr speed...(tested only once)...usually I ride b/w 60-70 km/hr. My friend had reached above 105 km/hr speed on my bike with me as a pillion rider.
Cons- 1- one very bad experience when the cd ignition unit once failed and I could not get a spare from local market and had to carry bike in a tempo which took me around 2000 rs and scratches over the tank area...the service personal neglected my plead for a road side assistance.
2- lorry like breaking sound during mornings from back drum brake.
3- chain always tend to get looser after 100km of every service which the mechanic told there is no permanent solution bcoz the bike has an extra play of chain set due to mono suspension.
4- iam only 5.5 ft and once had to put the bike on ground when it leaned as I could not bear the weight and also I feel the weight is distributed over front tank area more.
Conclusion- exempting from one bad experience which I mentioned I feel myself having a very good vehicle as my most reliable friend.
