The Real Bike..

Hi Friends,


As I am mechanical engineer you can expect an unbiased review. I was in the process of purchasing a new bike and at the end I made with Unicorn. So To come to decision I went through all the reviews and a lot of trials. Because a bike ones owned, we can not change it for 2 to 3 years. So I do not want to give to any chance, otherwise it would spoil two years of biking. So How delicate is the subject, you can understand. For this I used both bikes for one week each.


Lets start review...


1) Engine: Which is main important part of the bike. I will not go into detailed specification. You can find those on website. So competiters were, Pulsar 150 DTSi, Unicorn. I do not considered TVS Apache. Pulsar engine is real technology, DTSi- Digital Twin Spark Ignition. Real fact is that.. below 250 cc signle spark plug is sufficient for complete combustion of fuel. 250..150 these figure indicates cylinder volume. Now technology is good but no use for us. So waste of money. We do not get any added advantage with this. Pulsar boasts patent for this technology. Fact is that bajaj has applied for that but have not got it yet. And this is not new technology, I learnt it 7 years back using a book which was printed even more before. So u can imagine how old is this technology.


Now unicorn, This is simple engine with some modification which can be beneficial for us like offset crank, two way air jacket. I will not explain this to you. But this is good for engine.


Now In actual performance, Unicorn Engine is real gem. what a smoothness? You are sure to satisfy with Unicorn engine performance. Pulsar is also good but can not beat Unicorn.


I got same milage on both bikes... infact unicorn gave 1 km more than pulsar, i.e. 50 kmpl and that too in city like Pune.


So Clearly UNICORN is the WINNER.


2) Handling and comfort:


Pulsar puts you in racing position which is good feel. But fact is that this good feel lasts for only some days... ones back ache starts then you can say that forget the racing position give me comfort. What will you do in that case? sale pulsar and bye new one. Racing posture can cause fatigue and back ache on long routes. But for style and for small drive routes it is better.


Unicorn gives you best comfort. Just go near bike and sit on it, you will get a great accessibily of handle... that feel is so touching that you will go for it. Right handle height, gaps between left and right, handle angle is perfect. So you will get Real comfort here.


one more thing, legroom on pulsar. On Pulsar we do not feel confortable because of more leg angle. But on Unicorn it is perfect.


Now you know Unicorn has Mono Shock, why mono shock? due to it, it gives centralisation of mass and lower center of gravity for bike... so more stability on the road. In Auto Engineering we always try to lower Center of Gravity and Centralisation of mass. these are only two major factor which affects stability and Handling. So Here also UNICORN is the WINNER.


3) Style and looks:


Clearly to say. Here PULSAR is the BEST. No one can beat pulsar. Pulsar is real star.


But Appeal of New things lasts for first few days. Then performance handling stability comes into picture.


So Friends, I wrote in favour of Unicorn more, this is because I have been in love with Unicorn. Real fact was I was going to buy Pulsar but one of my friend stopped me and made available these two bikes for trial... after two weeks of intesives ride tests I made my decision and zeroed out at Unicorn. These are engineer’s words. UNICORN IS OVERALL WINNER.
