The beast with wings!

I FOUND MY WINGS?

Yesterday, my friend just came and asked me get him out of the city limits in his Unicorn as he had no licence. I didn’t find anything interesting in his so called bike Unicorn, but I liked it in each second especially as it didn’t weigh as much as I expected - seemed to be having the mass balanced.

The most eagerly awaited bike got my attention and it makes me so sad that this one was not there at the time I bought my bike. Honda seemed to have got everything right to compete with the other 150cc big ones Pulsar, Fiero, Graptor and CBZ. I have to say that no other bike got my mouth wide open like this one called ’’The Unicorn’’.

THE WINGS

I found the headlights similiar to CBZ and the rear lights are my favourite part of my bike. The petrol tank has got impressive curvings. It gives me the impression of the wings! The tank is smaller than the others which makes me more attracted - I hate bulgy ones!

I find this bike a better looking one compared to all others of the same segment. Among the colours, I find Silver and Grey more impressive as it catches your eyes in a quicker way. Even when I say that this bike is eye-catching, I still have the thoughts that it could have been better especially as Honda is the manufacturer.

A STREET RACER?

I started off quite slowly, but was able to get to 80s and farther into 100 with no problem at all. I wonder if any bike can be as smooth as this. The pick up was quite amazing as I could overtake a number of vehicles by just giving a bit more acceleration.

The fuel capacity with 13 ltrs with 1.2 ltrs as reserve is enough for me as this bike can give more mileage than fifty! The bike got nice stability and it is quite easy at the turnings. Remember one thing - no side stand indicator as my friend said!

The shock absorbers were so smooth that we will not find any of the big problems at the speed breakers - so comfortable. The bike got the 1 0 2 3 4 5 gear system, but that is OK as we will not have to bring the gears down if we reach the hundreds - that is a lovely experience.

But it is one of the most difficult things to go from first to second and vice versa. The 149cc engine giving 13.3 bhp of power is expected to give a much better mileage than the others of the same class. But I am sure that it is going to be quite hard to drive this bike slowly thinking about the mileage.

The price keeps on varying between 50, 000 and 55, 000 on road. Even with the high level technology of Honda, I believe that they should certainly have better advertisements on television.

All they show is some one riding the bike just as we see on the road! But the horn was too poor - my Centra had ten times powerful horn! The five second 0-60 is more than enough for me. The bike doesn’t have the self-starter - who cares? I can start it with one kick.

It is the easiest bike to start! If you are to choose from a 150cc bike, you can’t avoid this one - it is a gentle beast! I just got the number one contendor for being my next bike just as I finish with my Centra - one day, I will be a wing rider!

Another thing that I love Honda and TVS is that they care better for their customers than Bajaj and Hero Honda. We would have bought Passion Plus if those ’’Hero Honda’’ fellows there had told something about the bike - what they did was saying ’’This is the bike’’ and going to do something else.

And coming to Bajaj, the only thing they did was giving an Overdrive magazine featuring Bajaj Caliber. Yamaha was better than that! It seems that Suzuki is planning to do something bigger. Lets wait for that.

AND FINAL WORDS - I AM JEALOUS ABOUT ALL WING RIDERS - I MEAN THE OWNERS OF THIS FANTASTIC MACHINE!
