I purchased this bike in Octtober, 2007. After my previous bike, Yamaha Enticer, This bike seemed like the much
needed reprive!
The bike is excellently smooth and refined, great for small city jaunts with bumper to bumper traffic. A guy my
weight, barely 52Kg, can comfortably Maneuver this bike, like reversing on slopes.
The gear box is slick, especially useful in city traffic and is a treat on highways. Mileage returned till date is
about 50Kmpl, considering my ride is mostly highway with pillion.
The Unicorn is a very friendly machine, I wanted to set my hands on it the moment I had a test ride of it in 2005.
The new livery, ie; the Honda Wing logo and the Unicorn sign on the rear cowling looks extra cool on the new
Silver Unicorn, (Damn, couldnt they do it 6 mnths earlier!)
Though the Unicorn is flawless, (engineering and ergonomics, style is still not exactlty desirable) I had my share
of frequent visits to the showroom.
I bought this bike from Sai Point Showroom in Thane. Initially the 1st service was not bad, the bike absolutely
had no issues and also the mileage was around 47kmpl, however, once the 2nd service was done, I had a strange,
wobbly handle bar. I took the bike back to the service centre and requested it to be checked. I got the bike in 3 hr,
however, there was not much done on the handle.
I checked ot the Unicorn community on Orkut, it too had a forum for wobbly handle, I even pasted the link in the feedback
section on the honda 2 wheelers section.
It seemed the service engineers had a lot of load and didnt exactly have enough time to sit and check the issue.
I was sure it mustnt be a major problem, since the bike rode well initially and only after the service started
to behave in this way, so I took the bike again, this time too, no luck.
I decided to escalete the issue to higher authorities, so I used the honda2wheelers website, and wrote a feedback
regarding poor service. To my surprise, I recieved a call the very next day, stating, a Customer Service Manager
is waiting for me at the showroom and I could take my bike anytime and he will help me with the needful.
It did work, I met the Customer Service manager, Mr. Sawant. He was excellent, he made sure he understood my
problem, he probed correctly and he also solved the problem for me.
Thats what I call is true customer Service!
The bike runs flawless.. there is nothing to complain about, and I shall be tripping on it for a long drive soon.
Kudos to Honda.
Anyone planning to buy it, dont even think about it, just go buy it.
