I am a proud owner of the honda unicorn from march 2010. The main criteria to select this bike is keeping in mind the long life of the engine and not to change any bike in future ( next is 4 wheeler ), my friend who is an mechanic suggested this bike. The one thing to compromise is of mileage because I got 40 - 45 till my 2nd service. Then gradually increased and now iam getting 52 + with the ordinary petrol.
I cruised the bike upto 80 KMPH on my way home around 11 PM but still I am getting good mileage.
The main thing in the bike is the sound at a speed more than 50.
The other draw back is the paint used in the clutch lever and the front brake lever the paint already gone and looks very odd. Then the tail lamp assembly it shakes as if there is no any support to hold the set. Then the handle will get loosen often
The service center guys Druvdesh honda gokul center says that its very common in unicorn.
Then my mechanic friend rectified all these problem in half a day, he used the rubber piece to tighten the tail lamp assembly and now the bike is like a bull.
I drove the bike 260 kms non stop from bangalore to vellore in 4 hrs without any back pain and was fresh as if I was in four wheeler. I overtook the volvo buses, indica cabs in the highway.
I love the bike and enjoy the ride for ever !!!!!
